Itinerary Details

Day 1: Arrival in Arusha

Your adventure begins with a warm welcome at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO). Meet your Sarah J Travel & Tours representative and transfer to your comfortable lodge in Arusha. Relax, enjoy a briefing, and get ready for the safari of your dreams.

  • Overnight: Arusha Planet Lodge

  • Meals: Dinner

After breakfast, drive to Tarangire National Park, known for its large elephant herds and towering baobab trees. Enjoy a full-day game drive with picnic lunch.

Highlights: Elephants, lions, zebras, giraffes, and over 500 bird species

  • Overnight: Farm of Dreams Lodge

  • Meals: Lunch & Dinner

After breakfast, a scenic drive takes you through the highlands and into the heart of the Serengeti. Along the way, you’ll pass the Ngorongoro Crater rim and spot wildlife en route.

In the afternoon, enjoy your first game drive in the vast savannahs of Serengeti.

  • Overnight: Kon Tiki Serengeti Camp

  • Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Spend a full day in Serengeti National Park, tracking the Big Five and – if the season is right – witnessing the incredible Great Migration. Your experienced guide will help you spot lions, cheetahs, elephants, giraffes, zebras, and more.

  • Optional: Sunrise Hot Air Balloon Safari
  • Overnight: Kon Tiki Serengeti Camp
  • Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

After breakfast, enjoy a morning game drive as you exit Serengeti and journey toward Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Stop at a Maasai village for a cultural encounter (optional).

Relax at your lodge on the crater rim with stunning views.

  • Overnight: Marera Valley Lodge
  • Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

After breakfast, you can relax at the lodge and, if time allows, take a short tour of Karatu town for shopping before transferring to Arusha Airport. Your flight to Zanzibar will depart from Arusha Airport. Our driver in Zanzibar will be waiting for you at Zanzibar Airport for your private transfer to your hotel in Stone town.

  • Overnight: Tembo House Hotel 

  • Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Spend your days at leisure: swim, snorkel, take a spice tour, go on a dhow sunset cruise, or visit Prison Island. Perfect for honeymooners, families, or solo travelers seeking peace and paradise.

  • Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Depending on your flight time, enjoy a relaxed morning before your transfer to Zanzibar International Airport for your flight home or to your next destination.
