Itinerary Details

Day 1: Arrival in Arusha

Your adventure begins with a warm welcome at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO). Meet your Sarah J Travel & Tours representative and transfer to your comfortable lodge in Arusha. Relax, enjoy a briefing, and get ready for the safari of your dreams.

  • Overnight: Arusha Planet Lodge

  • Meals: Dinner

After breakfast, drive to Tarangire National Park, known for its large elephant herds and towering baobab trees. Enjoy a full-day game drive with picnic lunch.

Highlights: Elephants, lions, zebras, giraffes, and over 500 bird species

  • Overnight: Farm of Dreams Lodge

  • Meals: Lunch & Dinner

After an early breakfast, journey toward Central Serengeti, a year-round game viewing paradise. On your way, pass through beautiful landscapes and local villages. After lunch, enjoy a thrilling game drive in the heart of the Serengeti.

  • Overnight: Kon Tiki Serengeti Camp

  • Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Today, head towards the Northern Serengeti, where the Great Migration is in full motion (typically July to October). Game drive en route and spend the afternoon near the Mara River, a hotspot for dramatic wildebeest river crossings.

  • Overnight: Kon Tiki Serengeti Camp
  • Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Get up early and enjoy breakfast before continuing with your game drive to see the Great Migration. Later we will drive back to the central area of the park for our overnight stay.

  • Optional: Sunrise Hot Air Balloon Safari
  • Overnight: Kon Tiki Serengeti Camp
  • Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

After breakfast, enjoy a morning game drive in Serengeti before heading toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Optional stop at a Maasai village or Olduvai Gorge Museum on the way.

Relax at your lodge on the crater rim with stunning views.

  • Overnight: Marera Valley Lodge
  • Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

After breakfast, we’ll depart for Lake Manyara for a game drive with a lunch box in hand. Once we finish the game drive we will transfer you to Arusha for relaxation, dinner, and your overnight stay.

  • Overnight: Arusha Planet Lodge

  • Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

After breakfast you’ll relax at the lodge and, if time allows, go on a short tour in Arusha for shopping. You’ll then transfer to the Arusha or Kilimanjaro Airports or help arrange a Zanzibar beach extension to wind down your safari.

  • Meals: Breakfast
